Advantage?

How many lives can be changed or ruined?
In a lifetime, year, day, minute, all just flowing like fluids.

How is it that we seek out the ones who need us the most?
After they use and abuse us they go and we are toast.

How is it that the world doesn't change one single bit?
That nothing we try or give will ever fit.

Is it right? Should we all go on?
Are we all just a useless peice in life, a pawn?

Can't the things, that are done out of love, be redemed?
Does it all just go black or is it just as it seems?

How much can one take before they have no more to give?
Does this remain the only way to live?

Doing all that can be done and nothing being done in return.
Only getting looks of those who don't approve, all stern.

Why is all a lost cause?
Taking action with out pause.

Being there for anyone and everyone.
In return getting nothing, not being able to step into the sun.

Going on with life in darkness.
Not sure how to get up, the last linger of the senses.

Is anything worth it anymore?
How many times can a heart be hurt and sore?

Is this it? Only a dim light forever fading?
Fight the water to get through, wading.

How much worse can it get?
Wanting to crawl, walk, run, but only being able to sit.

Why don't we have love anymore?
Is it because people are unsure?

Not knowing how or when something will end?
Not willing to give or bend.

Ever showing restraint.
An everlasting love that has been tainted.

Does Bell ever win the Beast over?
Will he ever be her forever lover?

How many "I Love You's" will have to be said.
Before he will believe that he's not being lead?

How is it that we are suppose to be strong...
With the lasted love left in a throng.

Will it ever be worth it to have love and to love?
I suppose the only one that is for me is up above.....

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
