Aegis of Childhood Memories
can't touch the sky with my fingertips
been ages and lifetimes til i've seen the sunset
the world is changing and there aint no sign
of the waters rising, of the hands of time
can't see the moon with my memory
talk of people's uselessness and hopeless vanity
the world's on fire...still, i've grown cold
the land is moving, the earth will fold...
can't remember, when the night was warm
with starlight coarsing white and pure
consoled by the words of a lullaby
when i was small and prayers were told
