    Cypress Tree Delirium

    Earth, one more day in the darkness
    One more night, one more delirium, one more dream...
    Be still, heart, do not follow;
    I've not sorted out all of my means.

    Earth, one more night for my sorrow
    One more shadow to pacify my demons...
    Be good now, whisper lightly;
    I've danced quietly with words I can't scream...

    Earth, lay these bones that were once broken
    One more piece to the body, it seems...
    Be still, heart, you are fallen;
    Shattered by vanity, sewn sadly with tears I can't see

    Earth, rest this body from madness
    Let the night-bird and the moonlight bleach me clean...
    Be silent now, don't speak to me softly;
    In the earth, now, beneath the Cypress I've been.

    The allegory in this piece was not lost on me. This was a magnificent piece on death

    If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.

    Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) American poet.
