All Hallows Eve

Poem Commentary

I think this one needs some tweaking. Wrote it on Halloween of course :)

All Hallows Eve

On what night
Does the vale grow thin
Between the worlds
But one
All Hallow's Eve

On what nights
 Do things go bump
All Hallow's Eve

When do shadows
Stalk the earth
All Hallow's Eve

When should mothers keep
Their children in
And off the street?
All Hallow's Eve

When do we bereave
Our sanity?
All Hallow's Eve.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
