    AN EPISODE

As soon as I close my eyes
    I see eternity, deep blue
    Reflected on your smile,
    All of life’s hue.
    No cloud could ever
    Take the joy in me
A simple touch of your hand
    Sends me to complete ecstacy.
I may have forgotten how it felt
For so long I have longed
Time chose to lead me back to you
    Where I do belong.
    A moment in time,
    A glimpse of the past,
    Wasn’t it lovely?
Why wasn’t it meant to last?

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.

    T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
