    Aphrodite

The heave of her chest, showed him quite clearly,
that she and only she loved him very dearly.
The rain splashed and splattered upon the window pane,
Never, he realized, has a love like this been in vain.
Slowly he scooped her up, holding her tightly but gently all in one.
“You are my queen, my heart and my sun.”
Her lips and his trembling together,
She rose, and he moved, shaking like a feather.
Hearts beating faster as the moment approached,
A kiss so passionate, as if almost it were coached.
“I promise to be your eternity”, she whispered in his ear.
“My love will grow stronger for you”, he replied, “with each passing year.”
Wed they were, on a brilliant autumn day.
They knew then and so still now, her heart and his will never their love betray.
So sweet are their hearts, filled with nothing but hope,
even the days when it seems life, they cannot cope.
But still they will share it. For it was written long before birth.
The world will still feel its intoxication long after they become again Earth.
