    Apples

    Apparentlly I was your shadow
    We toured the streets
    Rolling dirty and proud
Parading me like a precious possession
    Their envy became your obsession

    Then those days flew by
    with the sea of change
    Too young to remember
    The joy and pride
    In your eyes
The only vivid image that remains
Is your constant lack of interest
    Too busy to play
    Too busy to talk
    Too busy to interact
Too busy to fetch me from school
You forgot me a couple of times
Too busy to even fake concern
Always buying your way out of "Parental Duties"
As if throwing cash around makes it alright.
What kind of work requires your attention at midnight?
Too busy, too busy, too busy
    Never too busy to criticize
Never too busy to cause mayhem, confusion, destruction
    Total chaos of the soul

    Now that it suits you
    You want to play house
    Pick up the ropes
    Take on the role
You should have played a long time ago
    Getting to know you
    Getting to know me
    That act is over now
We are onto a new scene
One that holds promise and joy

    Question is.......
    Can you fake a smile?
At least a bit of consideration?
    Will you find your Niche
    within this scene.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
