    Aunt Josie

                          Aunt Josie

My memories of my Aunt Josie

    Pre-date my being called Rosi

For Aunt Josie has always be some part of my life

Mainly because she was my Uncle Johnny’s wife

After my father died, Uncle Johnny was there, with Aunt Josie by his side

They were like 2nd parents for five years ‘till my Uncle Johnny died

My earliest memories of Aunt Josie couldn’t be clearer

And if she were a blood relative, I couldn’t hold her dearer

And after Uncle Johnny died, she didn’t have to be

But she was always so kind and loving to me

After I moved to Florida, we became close again

She was more than an Aunt by marriage, she was a friend

I always felt welcome, when I went to her home

And that’s the main reason for writing this poem

To wish you the very best on your 90th birthday

But Aunt Josie more important for me to say:

I give thanks for you being even a small part of my life

And thank God for making Uncle Johnny take you as his wife

        All my love,    Rosemarie
