    Barbed covered heart

Lost in the torments of my mind, I stand along to face my fears.
Watching as my soul builds the barbed fence around my heart again.
Already feeling the pricking of the deadly points, laced with venom.
The creeping darkness poisoning as it slithers over me, covering me in the depths of hell.
Burning me alive with my sin,my betrayal, looking all around for way to call for help.
Do I look hard enough or just accept this state and slowly die away?

Good imagery. One misspelled word - I stand along - should be alone. Two lines, the fourth and fifth, might flow better if they were broken into three separate thoughts.

Poetry is what gets lost in translation.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
