Better to love & lost, than to have never loved at all...

  • I am the sand that pours down the hour glass awaiting to know if I'm half empty or half full, i am usurped by the power of time...

Better to love & lost, than to have never loved at all...

And yee sure of this, on the honor of thou surname?
I do, And I tell you, MY BROTHERS!!!
The sun has set, the day is ours, I offer the spoils of knowledge.

Then you may speak...
Is it better to have loved and lost, or to never have loved at all?

I beseech you, allow thy heart to pardon,
my heart cast not a stone,
for it is weak, too weak to live alone...

I have felt the warmth of a woman's touch,
the lips as soft as the finest sheepskin,
her fragrance is a memory I played again, and again...

My mind is a beating drum,
but this woman is a drummer,
in the night we shared passion,
told secrets, and kept promises...

We experienced a jealous moon,
for it can never be with the sun,
my love for her grew, and grew,
till I no longer did this for fun...

Then there will be no adjournment of constituency,
I implore the console,
grant this heart the blessings of love's curse.

Wait...
The truth cannot be half told,
I bled desires of passion only to gain disdain,
hear me and know the true connection between love and pain.

Much is true, that my heart cannot live alone,
but the essence of love can build you up and brake you down,
but the loss of love is like termites to cheap wood,
a cannon fired at a straw fence, or oxgen without a lung.

my assessment is pain, arthritis with every beat,
the blood is thick, the sound is shriek, the moral is defeat...

Cursed by a Deity would be an easier fitting,
for even they have mercy,
the scorn of love, is a vengeful one,
cursed till pain is at peace.

So is it better to have loved and lost, or to never have loved at all?

You tell me?

To love yourself all others and Him (Jesus ) is the best thing I have ever known..... Besides the heart ache and pain.... I know that love is the key to inner peace.... So yes it is better to have loved and lost then to have never loved at all....... red

You are correct... for it is written, out of faith, hope and love... love is the greatest of these... but i think love is wonderful when it's real and pure, like the love Jesus has for us... but selfish love, like the one i have experienced, is really like not being loved at all... but despite that... i do agree with you, it is better to have than to have never loved at all...

I'm sorry that you have encountered that selfish love as I believe we have all encountered and I know that pain...... I think you are on the right road and God says blessed are those who are walking in His light( love ) so keep walking and loving and that pure love will come to you if you're just giving it out wanting nothing in return......... blessings

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
