    blue ridge blues

    well it wasn't long ago
i was slipping through the snow
in the blue ridge mountians of my home
my heart it was aching, cause i knew he was taking
    my love away from me.

    i walked down a creek
upon a squirrel i did sneak
eating a nut upon a log
ehen he looked at me, i knew that he could see
i was in the blue ridge mountains all alone.

then i walked upon a ridge
    and looked upon the land
the new river shimmering in the sun
and as it wound its way
i knew that i could say
    i'd love again someday.

cause my heart it was aching
cause i knew he had taken
my not so true love away from me.

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
