Boogieman

BOOGIEMAN 09

Tell me child
Do you see the shadows?
Of your nightmares and dreams
Scratching the window glass
Waiting to get in
Who is standing over your grave?
An angel or devil to guide your way
Is your hope it seems to see the day?
To light or from dark
Who is your savior you need
In troubles flight
To save you indeed
Let them all burn
Hell to all a fate
They should all learn
Or rush to forgiveness
At Heaven's gate
So tell me dear child
Who will save you?
When you cry out at night
As the steely claws scratch
At the walls of fright
Is it your angel who comes to help you sleep?
Or the wicked ones who creep
After you in flight
Scream loud
Scream clear
Scream hard with fear
For dear child
I am the one who's claws you hear
For none will save you
When you are mine
So pray for dawn
And sleep through the day
I have plenty of time
At night to play

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
