    By Myself

Sinking crimson rays light the path,
    As our fingers mingle; intertwined.
    Sunset shrouds my growing glow,
Eyes meeting, one fleeting moment at a time.

Heart pounding fast, halt my steps,
As our bodies connect with magnetic force.
    Sheltered, safe within your arms,
As dusk is vanquished by a cadence of stars.

A gentle breeze lifts my chin,
As your lips become one with mine.
    Igniting passionate flames,
Internal heat battling the chill of night.

    Fluttering, my eyes open,
Staring up at the twinkling sky.
The pale moon reflecting off my fallen tears,
As I stand here alone, with only feelings I harbor inside.

Just wanted to say I enjoyed your poem.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
