    You keep me locked away
A piece too rare to share
    I'm in an invisible cage
    Straining for some air
Within these bonds that tie us
Too scared to test their strength
    I'm chained to these walls
On a leash that has no length
Never a protest do I utter
The boundaries I do not test
I've forsaken my own free will
A sacrifice for what is best
    I've handed you my freedom
In return for all I know
    Settled into my prison
A prize for you to show.

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
