    Suffocated

    Like a wicked winter's day
    Your cold smile burns me
I am frozen in this hell
    Your tone scalds me
    Disdain dripping from every word
I am being consumed by the flames
    Your stormy glare condemns me
    Lightning flashes from your eyes
I am drowning in these turbulent seas
    Like an arid desert
    Your cruelty smothers me
I am suffocated by your presence
    You are burying me alive

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.

    T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
