    Can?

    Can we stand,
    Toe to toe?
    Can we look,
    In each other's eyes?
    Can we touch,
    Each other's hand?
    Can we find,
    What we seek?
    Can we fight,
    And still love?
    Can we love,
    And still fight?
    Can we shout,
And raise all kinds of hell?
    Can we say nothing,
    And say everything?
    Can I tell you,
    How I feel?
    Can I show you,
For I don't know how to tell?
    Can you tell me,
    How you feel?
Or would you need to show,
    Unable to find the words?
    Can we find each other,
    From across the world?
    Can we find each other,
    Throughout eternity?
    Can you hear,
    What I can't say?
    Can you see,
    What I can't show?
    Hold me close,
    Hold me dear.
    Hold me forever,
    Never let me go.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
