    Poem Commentary

    Jesus Christ gave up his life so that we may live! How many ways has he tried to get our attention? How many times have we ignored him?

    CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW?

     I've called your name but you wouldn't say a word.
    You just go about your day as if you haven't heard.
    I've tapped on your shoulder but you wouldn't turn around.
    Now you think it's my fault because you're hell bound!
    I've talked to you through your closest friend....
    but you made the decision to continue in sin.
    I've whispered in your ear with words in the wind...
    but your evil ways you would not bend.
    I've touched your head in the middle of the night...
    but you chose to stay in darkness you refused to see The Light.
    I've cried many tears for you through the pouring rain....                        but without love for  me you continued to cause me pain.
    I've paid the ultimate price and gave my life for you...
    but you still live as if you don't have a clue.
    Can you hear me now?

    The ending shock value could have had a greater impact, if the closing statement had included a compilation of the poem's intent and purpose. But this is a provocative piece! Very Good!
