Catch 2002

Catch 2002

New Millinium add a year,
and another Winter was slowly dying
as Jack Frost turned me so Blue
on the ides of March
when First Love Lost
broke the Promise of Spring.

April showers drowned the seeds
of May flowers not yet bloomed.
Innocence was stolen,
and I thought for certain
the Dream was Over,
or had it only just Begun?

June gave birth to
green happy trees and white fluffy clouds,
and I could feel Summer's fast pulse
skipping like a stone
on what I thought was
an Endless river.

Day after day
I walked the Garden Path under
August's orange sunlit lamp
straight to your door.
And waited for you
Outside.

I never once looked away from the Sun,
it was your eyes that told me
when it was time to Run.
I blindly followed you into the Darkness,
I helped you build a Wall
Behind us.

November endless rainy days
Disillusionment set free the demons...
Fear not the masses
but the quiet Stranger--
the Violent Whisper heard
was our Own.

I should have known
we were in for a long Winter,
Nights of mourning
the Death of Dreams
Sleep did not have Time
to put into words.

But Winters
(like Words and Wars)
do not have to last Forever.
I keep hoping that maybe next Year
Spring will Keep
her Promise:

Tell me something
I haven't already heard,
and Mean it.
Show me something
I haven't already seen,
except this time....... make it Real.
