CHOOSE YE THIS DAY!

Today we enter the sanctuary, in God’s presence we’re gathering

To extend praises in return for blessings

Providing we keep the church HOT, not a Luke-warm thing

While in our hearts, steady meditating

To give God our all, full participating

As each spark to another we’re illuminating

And let Satan know, his presence uninviting

Look alive; pull together, no more back-biting

Enough of the hypocrisies the calumniating

Because holiness only we should be generating

Think of how Jesus Christ, while on a cross dying

That your and my soul he was extricating

This is not a guess, not an approximating

As you should already know – this is the real thing

Time and time our attitudes are fluctuating

Yet we serve a God who remains unchanging

Don’t you think it’s time we start configurating

Put off the unlikeness and do some intoning?

Our God, our father is merciful and forgiving

Remove all your sins, thus extirpating

All evils you possess, things you’re harboring

Put them off now, get spiritually resonating

Make Him your focal point, your soul allocating

You’ll get more than you were ever bargaining

But behold the marriage supper, the bridegroom is returning

To take unto himself the ones ready and waiting

So choose carefully your destination for honey-mooning

A paradise with God, or hell fire blazing

Your mind body and soul all consuming

Because for all the good words you hear, were you listening?

Choose carefully, no regretting!

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
