    Compass

    The way to get home
    Beyond the heavenly blue sky
    I pray to please our Father;
    To meet man’s only Son
    Your Spirit leads me home

If ever I stray from the road
    Your Word points me home
    Lightens the path to redemption
    Reveals Your steps to follow
    Strengthens my faith in trial

    So many ways to head
So many, to stoke my fire
    How did You, see me,
    Point me towards victory
    Quenching my life-long desire

    I’ve been down desolate trails
    Enveloped by darkness
    Under cloak of the tempter
    Every miss-step, every mistake
    Brings me closer to You,

    Forgive me Dear Abba,
    Humbled before You
    On bended knee
    Asking for Grace
    I don’t deserve

    I wouldn’t change my ashamed
    I wouldn’t change my pain
All done in Your good faith
You knew exactly what it would take
    To bring me back home

Oh, Dear Lord, to know You

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
