    crossin

    Look at da birdies
    up in the tree;
    too low for you,
    too high for me.

    Look at da airplane
    crossin the sun.
    Orange the sphere.
    The day is done.

    Shut up bad doggies
    barkin in there.
    Just crossin by.
    Whadda you care?

    When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
