Dad the Stranger

you said that you loved me           April 29th, 2008
you said that you cared
but for some reason
you were never there

everyday i thought of you
imagining your looks
your face
and sometimes your voice

i grew up not
knowing you
as if almost
hating you

always wondering
asking
where are you
why arn't you here

was i not good enough
pure enough
obviously
not enough

years went by
not ever a word
no birthday card
not even a hello

after 14 years
the day finally came
you walked into my life
promising me a new world

but she didn't like me
she made that very clear
she was your dear
but i was your daughter

she said i wasn't yours
it didnt stop there
for i was to much
as if unbearable

she said it wouldnt work
and you agreed
i begged to disagreed
you said it could never be

you walked out of my life
for the second time
leaving only a letter
i think for the better
