Damaged

The idea of me, a young and innocent girl
cauesed your lust to build, to unfurl
Too young to understand that look in your eyes
too innocent to see the lust in you rise

One lone night behind closed doors
you forcibly took what was not yours
Like a fine china doll, I broke and scattered
the most intimate of my mind and body, lay shattered

Thru many hard  times and painful years

I've put the pieces back together, thru tears
and many heartfelt prayers to God above
healed and sealed by the glue that is love

No no longer do I feel the need to hide
I've found the power of love deep inside
Now, I can hold my head up high

And bravely look you in the eye

No, I'll never forget the pain you caused
the night you committed the unspoken
and yes, I was left slightly scarred and damaged
I am once more whole, and no longer....Broken.

Great empowerment poem. I love the way you write..............E

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.

T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
