Death Is Not The End

To a Christian,
Your last breathe on earth,
Is your first breathe in heaven,
Death is not the end,
It is merely a metamorphosis,
Of this life into the next.

Like a caterpillar inside
in a silk spun cocoon,
We will soon be transformed,
Death is not the end,
It is merely the beginning,
Eternity in paradise awaits us.

I believe this, too. At one point in my life I thought I was dying, and I was ready to take a step into a new adventure. As it turned out, I didn't die, obviously, but I realized that i truly did believe in heaven, God, and Christ. Facing possible death is a good way to see how real your beliefs are to you. I liked your comparison of death to a caterpillar coming out of its cocoon. I think, though, that you could have said more about this topic. I feel like there is more to the poem. Just my opinion. I'd like to see it include more. Oh, and I rarely give ratings. It's too much like rating someone's heart and soul.

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
