    Death or New Life

    Mind battling,
Tring to stay a float but tired of
    paddling.
    Life's ocean,
    Drowning from emotion.
    Heart rate poor,
    Almost to the ocean floor.
    God help me,
Take me out of this dark sea.
    Lungs filling with water,
    Staying alive is even harder.
    Is this the end,
    Or where the new begins.
    Give the answer to me,
So at least I'll be at peace.

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.

    T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
