DEATH

As I sit down and dwell
I carry the grief I cannot tell
The days are slow and nights are long
As day in day out I listen to the same song.

I remember the face of that one person I knew so less
He left suddenly leaving behind a huge mess;
A mess of broken promises and emotions
The love he had and the unfounded deep devotion.

As I ponder further I realize that it’s the hard reality of life,
It will come head on, no matter how hard we strife.

A mother looks out into the space and stare
She is beyond shock and pain that is hard to repair,
A wife frantically searches for a sound
Trying to touch him in and around,
A son screams at night and seeks his father’s touch
The agony is unbearable and the pain felt has never been this much.

A brother’s cry, and his tears tear my heart;
The pain registers little by little and then part by part.

I look up and want to let out a shriek
But then my voice fail me as I am too weak.

Why, why and why it happened, the question circles my mind
As I get up to welcome another day and let the life unwind.

I am guilty of waking up alive, it makes me sad
The mere thought makes me mad
As I pray for him, I see him watching me with regret
The face, the smile and the talks, they are so hard to forget.

As tears lingers my face
I close my eyes and try to remember him in each and every way,
That one incident fills me with pain
And I ask for another chance for him, but all in vain.

Then I feel the loneliness that fills my days
As I seek around for anyone to accompany me in some way,
As days are long and nights even longer
But then I guess God is there to make me stronger.

As days roll into weeks and weeks into months
Life will tick in its own path, the dawn and the dusk will be there
But still we will try to reach out to the one who has gone, only God knows where.

My emptiness will be filled as he will back in a few days time
Our days will fill with us talking of 'him, missing him and the pain of his absence and then trying to let him go,
Till the time heals and wants us to know ...
“Nothing can be done now , just move on"

Time will move on its own pace :
The pain and memories will fill the emptiness and our heart's space !!!!
