    Desperately Seeking Purpose

It’s getting harder and harder each day
As I watch my life slip away

It is becoming a chore to get out of bed
With parts of me wondering, “Am I better off dead?”

The days are long and the nights even longer
I pray each day, “Lord please make me stronger!”

I just want to be happy, but happiness eludes me.
I wonder what people would think if they really knew me

I carry on each day on the brink of disaster
Dodging the question, “What is the matter.”

No one can understand the emptiness inside
Or how most days I just want to hide

On the outside I may seem as a woman who is nervous
But on the inside I am woman desperately seeking purpose.

oH, MY GOODNESS, YOU ALMOST HAD ME IN TEARS ,I FELT YOUR EEMOTION AND REMINDED ME OF DAYS THAT I FEEL THE SAME WAY.

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.

    Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) American poet.
