    Destroyed (English Version)

I feel there is something more
    We decided to say goodbye
I thought about the deep solitude
I see deep in your eyes

I thought about the wear in my mother’s world
That is so close to home
It was difficult to find a place
To say they had already won

    We fell slowly
    Titer tottering like a toy
But it was just the eye of the storm
    That would soon destroy

Who gave them permission to destroy our faith?
Who gave them permission to be the final judgment day?
Still I feel there is something more
    We decided to say goodbye

    Immigration won
    They won our faith
We are not the only ones
But we are no longer one

    We decided to say goodbye

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
