Doesn't Make Me Less of a Woman

    I'm tired of being alone,
I don't have you to call my own...

It doesn't make me less of a woman,
to say that, that I need you

    I'm tired of being afraid,
So sorry I pushed you away...

It doesn't make me less of a woman,
to say that, that I need you

    Back in 95, I met a guy..
    He was the perfect man
    that I've been dreaming about...

Holding hands, taking long walks in the park...
Making love in the moonlight after dark...

Who would have thought I'd loved you...
Who would have thought I'd need you...
Who would have thought that it would come to an end...
    I miss my best-friend...

and I'm tired of being alone,
I don't have you to call my own...

It doesn't make me less of a woman,
to say that, that I need you

    I'm tired of being afraid,
So sorry I pushed you away...

It doesn't make me less of a woman,
to say that, that I need you

I miss the times we had...
    Always new and exciting,
    but now I'm so sad...

Why did I push you away?
It was love that scared me,
    driving me crazy...

    Now I realize,
You were the best thing in my life...
    Could you ever forgive me?
    I love you baby...

and I'm tired of being alone,
I don't have you to call my own...

It doesn't make me less of a woman,
to say that, that I need you

    I'm tired of being afraid,
So sorry I pushed you away...

It doesn't make me less of a woman,
to say that, that I need you

Sounds like it could be a love song, regrets of lost love. I like it.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
