    DONT MISTAKE MY KINDNESS FOR WEAKNESS OR MY SMILE FOR SOFTNESS.
    SO RESPECT ME FOR ME.
    DONT BRING ME DOWN BECAUSE YOUR SAD OR MAD.
    WHEN IM UP HAPPY.. AND GLAD.
    DONT TURN MY PLEASEURE INTO PAIN OR MY HOPE INTO SANITY.
    JUST RESPECT ME FOR ME.
    AND DONT BUCK AT ME.. WHEN ITS HARD FOR YOU TO SEE THAT LIFE IS NOT A FANTASY.
    TAKE ME AS I AM AND ILL TAKE YOU FOR WHO YOU CAN BE.
    DONT REPLACE MY HAPPY THOUGHTS WITH SAD MEMORIES OR WASH AWAY MY LOVE FOR LIFE.
    RESPECT ME FOR ME, AND FOR EVERY CHILD TO COME.
    THAT IF YOUR HELD PRISONER DONT MAKE ME ONE.

    I really enjoyed this. I like the message it conveys and tells us. I've read other poems of yours and I just want to say, you are a terrific poet. Keep it up.
