Dream
Is this just a dream?
Am I really at the airport?
Each minute that passes by
feels more like an hour.
The doors open.
My heart begins to race.
I ring my hands as
I watch the people descend from the terminal gate.
Tears stream down my cheek.
Where are you?
I walk away confused
and heart broken.
I reach for the door
I wake in my bed.
I take a deep breathe
and realize it's just a dream.

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.
