  • shhhh! If you're quiet you will hear the sound of my heart breaking.

Hidden

I see parents
hug
kiss
their child as they greet.

It's plain to see
the love they share
within their eyes.

My blood turns to green
with envy.

Do I get kisses?
NO!
I get, "Get the hell away!"

Do I get tender touches?
NO!
I get a closed fist to my cheek
and a swift kick to my gut.

Seeing the loving relationship
that other kids have
with their parents,
makes me wonder.

Is it me?
Am I devil child?
Am I unlovable?
Am I stupid?

Ultimately I ask
if there is a God
does He hate me too?

what strong emotion i see in your poem, I understand what you are saying so well. But the one thing I can say is God loves you. We may have had bad times but that doesn't stop the good ones from coming to us. I didn't have a relationship with my parents because I was taken from them and I just found them and am starting relationships with them. This poem really touched me. hugs

I'm glad it touched you, but there's something you should know. This isn't a personal experience. This is a subject that is near and dear to my heart. Yet again thank you!

I'm glad it touched you. Children are a gift that not everyone are ready to receive nor should they ever receive. This came from a conversation I had with a friend one night. He told me that I wrote from his point of view accurately since I never personally experience it.
