    Dwelling Place

    Reflection becomes rejection
    When looking in the mirror
    and seeing self
Your mind is aching, from the pain
That's been placed on the shelf,
    of remains
You see that's what the past is
The BS that's been left behind
But we have a tendency to pack the ruins in a bag
and take it with us as we rewind
Trying to figure out why a half ain't a whole
Meanwhile still living in that hole
    of degradation and discrepancy
    living content in complacency
    Still asking Why me?
Finding ways to look beyond the positive energy,
    that resides within us
handed down by generations of feminine strengths
Rosa Parks refusing to sit at the back of the bus
Big mirrors and they still don't see US
Yet we climb on 'em and run to the back
Without realizing that what we lack
    Is perseverance, self-respect dignity
    Ambitions, goals, honesty
Feeling secure inside our own shells
    We dwell.

Thansk Rob. I must stay persistent.

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.

    T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
