    Early Morning Flight

Above the clouds, way up high
Nothing but the clear blue sky
A chance to sit and think and look
A chance to reflect or read a book
We are all going the same way

Some up front in first class seats
Enjoying the space, the service the treats
More in the back chatting to each other
A mother, father, sister or a brother
We are all going the same way

    There are vacations for some
    Long awaited, overdue fun
Others not as lucky with work to do
As we sit and wait and enjoy the view
We are all going the same way

When finally we land, and taxi to the gate
The passengers are happy, we’re not late
The sun is shining, the sky’s still blue
Must get going, have lots to do

We are all going the same way
But on this bright and sunny day
We all have different lives to lead
It was just the flight that brought us together
And now we part, possibly forever
It was a pleasure to meet you, a pleasure indeed.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
