    Elusive Dream

    Elusive Dream

I had a wonderful dream last night,

I was snuggled in your arms and you were holding me tight.

We were talking and sharing our dreams and goals.

So very wonderful it was, if truth be told.

Our eyes held a fascination for what the soul did reveal.

And we kissed to further seal an unspoken deal.

Long gone were the days that were so busy and spent.

For time was standing still, it was Heaven sent.

Everything I ever hoped for was now coming true.

There I was spending time with you.

My mouth hurt from the huge smile I wore.

Finally, I was meeting this wonderful guy who's qualities I adored.

I was hoping everything was perfect and just right,

For this very very special night.

We gazed at the dazzling stars above.

Wishing on one for our beginning love.

The sunshine came flooding into my room and quickly I awoke.

For a few minutes, I looked around and not a word I spoke.

A tear slid slowly down my face, knowing my dream was not true.

I whispered to myself, "Girl..he has no time for you. "

Love and tenderness is meant to be shared.

It allows you to know you are cared.

Times to be together no matter the cost,

Is the way relationships are built and not lost.

Precious moments spent together to hold each other near

Is the way love grows, my dear.

My heart sunk, as I realized deep down inside.

This journey toward the waterfalls, had stopped its ride.

There was a blockage in the way...

It was called time and there wasn't enough in a day.
