    Every day curse

    Wise Thought

    Every breath I take,

It seems as if its going to be my last

Sometime I have to check my watch

Because it feels like days have passed

    I remember the days

When I used to run and play

With the kids that made up the hood

But now I sit and watch because

My lungs don t work as good as they should

I was diagnosed with something called COPD

    Whatever, the hell that means

My Doctor explained it as three diseases that made up their own little team

Asthma, bronchitis, and emphysema are the three

If I got my facts straight

The sign and symptoms were there but I caught them little to late

    Shortness of breath and fatigue

    Yeah, that s me

The use of my shoulders and chest muscles just to breathe

A barrel-like chest and anxiety but I can only short speak

I have to take in some extra oxygen just to eat

I cry every day from being this way

And I could have prevented it all

But I thought it was cool

To smoke cigarettes in the mall

    Please learn from my Downfall

Poetry is either something that lives like fire inside you or else it is nothing, an empty formalized bore around which pedants can endlessly drone their notes and explanations.
