    Feel my Heart

Feel my heart, hold my hand,
Look into my eyes, this was not planned,
You know it is you that I adore,
But duty has knocked upon our door.

Sense my heart, you know it's true,
Our dreams even though fading from view,
    Are etched upon my memory,
All the days we spent, indellibly.

I opened my heart, but didn't we said all along,
To seize the moment and then be strong?
Always better to have loved and lost,
For in reality, we would face the cost.

Feel my heart, now walk quickly away,
"Don't look back!" you hear me say,
As I watch you go, my tears they flow,
The great sacrifice made, we both know,
That as we part, you have taken my heart.

To love and lose is not a choice I could make again.

nice write, I enjoy reading this one..keep writing Lavender.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
