    FOR NOW

A POEM WRITTEN THE DAY MY BROTHER WAS BURIED

    For Now

For now, I must say goodbye, because soon I will have to go. I stand here with a broken heart watching as they lower you below.

For now it will be the toughest thing to walk away from here, knowing that when I leave you I will not see you tomorrow or next year.

For now I must keep in mind, not the bad, but all the good things. Remembering all our years together, oh what a comfort this brings.

For now every memory of you and all the fun times that we shared, is going to be what pulls me through days when I'm sad and scared.

So for now, my little brother, it's time to go i'll say no goodbyes. I will walk away strong, and wipe the tears from my eyes.

For now I will think, we will meet again, deep down in my heart I know it's true. When all will welcome back their loved ones, as I will welcome back William and you.

So on until then my brother David as you lay in a sleeping state. I will be good, brave and strong. I will patiently, have to wait For now.

In memory of William 18 years old, died February 19, 1987, and David 21 years old, died June 17, 2004. Whose lives were taken by careless drivers.

Memories will give us the strength to continue and the courage to go on. Faith in God gives us the assurance, we will see them again. They will hear his voice and come forth and death will be no more.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
