How To Get Your Poetry Read 101

RE: RE: How To Get Your Poetry Read 101

Yeah, it is funny that a word that is pronounced the same as another, but
spelled differently, would be given the name Homophone...

RE: How To Get Your Poetry Read 101

Does that mean, 'the same phone'? Which, if the latter part of the word is derived from the rendering of 'phonetic', meaning same sound? Or, in other terms, one sound? That then, gives rise to the concept of 'homoletics' which is the use of similar sounding words, which begin with the same letters to outline points of speech or text. So how far away can I get with this thought from where you had intended? shock

Humor is a side dish, but the questions and observations are legit. If I could just have a respected page that was more compulsory, like, 'required reading', then that would elicit more response than I would be able to deal with. (that might defeat the puprose of being able to reply to comments, then--what a problem to have, eh?)

I do my part... I recommend you to people all the time, whether they heed the advice or not is on them... I PERSONALLY think your page IS required reading.

I think an interesting title also draws readers in. When I go into the Reading Room, often I scan for some title that catches my eye. Just a thought -

Never heard this one before, does it mean to pummel someone with a turd. Doesn't seem very painful, smelly yes. What about people that have sexual fantasies about feces like in California. You know what I mean turd tampers. Sorry went to far! Haven't quite reached adulthood myself.

RE: How To Get Your Poetry Read 101

YOUR STATEMENT:

I will start off by saying I am not the most popular poet on the site, I am not the most knowledgeable, I have not been on the site the longest, and I am certainly not the most talented or best poet on the site. But one thing I have learned through trial and error is how to get your poetry read. Talk is cheap so I use actions, proof as they say is in the pudding. So go to my profile and check out my poems and see the results of my reviews in numbers. At the time I am writing this my last 10 poems all have over 20 reviews, my last 7 over 30, and my last 5 over 40. So I think I have figured out a coupe of tricks that work.

MY ANSWER: WHERE DO I SIGN UP??

And what is proof and pudding?

Take care,

sjhunt

RE: RE: How To Get Your Poetry Read 101

Thanks, Dano. I didn't want to go back through all the posts to find it.
I never thought about going to the beginning. While I have your attention,
maybe you can explain what the significence of 101 is...

RE: How To Get Your Poetry Read 101

Gogant I would like to thank you as well as all those who have contributed to this thread and the ins and outs of OP forum! To answer your question about the 101, it was a word play to begining college freshman classes, like english 101, philosphy 101, allegrba 101, etc. Just represents the general idea of the forum, as a kindof introduction to OP for new members. Ofcourse I hope this thread and forum is useful and helps all members of OP but that was the intention and meaning of the 101, just an analogy. Thanks again for all the help and support!!! cool smile

RE: How To Get Your Poetry Read 101

Well, I appreciate the time and patience that you have put into this thread….
I don't know if I added much that could be considered as help, but I at least
tried to keep it upfront. And, so now I know the reasoning behind your use
of the 101.
Keep the faith, and be free of sorrow……………………….gogant
