    Frustration

    FRUSTRATION

    Hardly a day goes by
    That I don't see
    Something or someone
    That frustrates me

    For matters of injustice
Reign at the top of the list
And you don't have to look for it
    To know that it exists

    It is a daily occurrence
    On the six o'clock news
And it is talked to death
    With various opinions and views

    But there are no solutions
To the problems they aired today
    Just more aggravating circumstances
    That won't go away

    Crime in the streets
Criminals that break down your door
    People murdering people
And let us not forget the war

    Crooked politicians exposed
That I voted for last time
    Leaving me feel betrayed
And that is not all I find

    But, that is life
And I should be accustomed to it by now
And like the rest of the population
Perhaps I should learn to adjust somehow

For, as much as I try
    To make life right
    It too often results in
    Just another sleepless night

How long will we allow the criminals to  win
As we citizens look the other way
And wonder if the media will just air more
    Of what we saw yesterday

When and where I ask myself
    Will it ever end
When will the laws of decency prevail
    And get the upper hand

    When it comes to crime
    Believe me when I say
My conscience will never allow me
    To look the other way

I have seen enough of the criminal element
    In my day and time
And believe they should all be put
    Where the sun don't shine!

What a nice pome. Only someone as old as you are could speak trully of so much evidence. But I think they need sun shine more than anything else.

Thanks for your comment and I pay have agreed with you several years ago but that changed when I moved to Tulsa

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
