    Girl you

    GIRL YOU!

Your skin is so brown and your lips are so full, but she wants to be like you.
Your chest so plump and bottom just right, but she’s paying to be you,
Your eyes so deep and cheeks so fluffed, yet she’s dreaming of how to be you.
Your skin so tight without crease or wrinkle in sight, yeah, she’s saving to get like you.
The stride in your walk and swing of your hips, her man is going
    crazy over you.

You, you voluptuous, vivacious, phenomenal creature, hated by many
    yet love by all.
You the mother of a nation, the vessel for inventors, astronauts, doctors, lawyers, musicians, artist, heads of states, and the list goes
    on and on.
You the horizon of a creation, the giver of life, mother, sister, daughter, the confidant of the awesomely feared black man.

Girl, I celebrate you, I honor you, I commend you, and I marvel you.
You ask why? You see, she wants to be you, to be like you,
but always know QUEEN there is only one YOU! So now I laugh and smile and say in a few more years I will be you. My heritage has groomed me to be a phenomenon, a trendsetter, a legend! Most of
all everything about me is making me YOU!

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.
