God has sent me an Angel

God has sent me an Angel

It was from inside a garden in May,

One angel who brought me the message

    Oh God! I said,

From the cosmic ray of the firmament

    He has answered my pray’s.

You took the sadness out my life

You conveyed in me the spirit of love

    Why should I know more?

I remember how everything appeared to be

In the soft chill that the end of me

Was beginning a new life in the heart of spring.

    Golden the clouds have become,

Like crystals, the swans were flying.

So great is Nature. So great is Love.

Thank you Lord! You make us see a different world

You gave us the dream of peace

And all I had to do was to find one love

That could give it to me.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
