    God’s Gift

When you came into my life, I was God’s gift.
When you called me out my name, I was God’s gift.
When you threaten me for whatever reason, I was God’s gift.
When you cussed at me, I was God’s gift.

When you said I was nothing, I was God’s gift.
When you said no one cared, I was God’s gift.
When you laughed at me, I was God’s gift.
When you pushed me, I was God’s gift.

When you stole my joy, I was God’s gift.
When you made me cry, I was God’s gift.
When you spit in my face, I was God’s gift.
Now that you are out of my life, I’m still God’s gift.

I loved the simplicity of expression. I too like to write in this same pattern...

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.

    T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
