    God's Chariot

    An old woman stepped aboard
    God's Chariot and flew
    beyond those distant stars.
    So few left behind
    grieved her lonely passing.
Only a single tear slipped down
an impassive face as she gazed
upon the silent body laid on white satin.
    But an army of angels
    wept in great joy
    a weary, battle-scarred traveler had
    reached the gates of Heaven,
and a great multitude swung them wide
    and welcomed her home.

very nice. i loved the thought.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
