what was it you was thinking dad in your hospital bed,
was was in you thoughts just then what was in your head.

What was it you was feeling ,did you know your time to die,
was your thought of eternity
as in that bed you lie.

Did you see the tunnel dad
where your thoughts of fear,
did the darkness surround you
did you know that death was near.

Oh dad,  was
you frightened
i wish that id been there,
it wasn't i did not love or that i did not care.

If i could of held you hand dad
and walked you down that road,

I would of cut my heart wide open
