He Was Right

He Was Right

Ive walked clueless for years
And came to a conclusion of only tears
Words left on mute,
Feelings put on pause,
And priceless moments pressed on fast forward
With each step that I take I grow older,
And with each desicion I make I grow wiser.
And with each card I'm delt I just found a better advantage of the deck.
Every scene of exsistence plays a mis-understood part in this cycle we call life.
And as I proceed deeper and deeper into what the world sees, I will grow deeper and deeper in misery.
And I never understood what my father told me until this day,
He said: "one friend is one too many".

Someone once told me that being "right" doesn't make a difference and leaves you with no rewards. You are a wise young lady. If I may, I think that is why you escape to write these poems...to escape from what the world sees because I know in your heart, you see something better.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
