    Heart Aches and Drinkin'

    I'll always remember
The night you walked into my life
    I knew at that moment
Someday you would be my wife
    Your smile was so easy
    Your laugh sweet as wine
There was no doubt about it
    You had to be mine

    Now heart aches and drinkin'
    Have both got me thinkin'
About the night I met you
And the day you said we were through

    That truckstop cutie
    Was just a silly fling
    Oh but you weren't laughin'
When you took off your wedding rings
And said that you loved me
    But couldn't take it anymore
    Then kissed me gently
Turned and walked out the door

    Heart aches and drinkin'
    Have both got me thinkin'
About the night I met you
And the day you said we were through

    So I'll keep on pushing
This ol' rig down the road
    Town aftyer town
    Load after load
While those honky tonk juke boxes
    Filled with sad country songs
    Remind me of you
And the things I did wrong

    Yeah heart aches and drinkin'
    Have both got me thinkin'
About the night I met you
And the day you said we were through...

I like this poem. You painted a sad picture with your words.

Poetry is what is lost in translation.
