    The Perfect Day I Desire

    Coffee on the terrace
Or an old creaky deck would do
    A conversation without words
That I could only have with you
    Noontime by the lakeshore
    In a park
    Watching clouds floating by
    The breeze whispers your name
As I gaze into your eyes
    A boat ride
    While the sun sets
Followed by dinner just for two
Soft music and a slow dance
In a garden with a beautiful view
    An old movie
    Scented candles
And a cocktail by the fire
Then a passionate kiss that lasts all night
Is the perfect day I desire

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
