    I think it speaks for itself, no?

    Heart of Mine

     here, take this heart of mine
    I have no use for it anymore
    I know this is the right time
    and I just don't want it anymore
    It breathes cold air
    as it stings my every thought
    my eyes hold a vacant stare
    I have no more heart
    Its purpose lost its place
    I know that I'll never be the same
    I'm haunted by your face
    that I know will never feel the same
    letting go is the hardest thing I've ever had to do
    letting you go is the saddest thing I've ever had to do
    but I guess, its what I have to do
    take this here heart out of my chest
    leave it withering in all its glory
    you had the best now take the rest
    and leave me here with the blame and worry
    I lost you somewhere along the way
    and yet you forgot to let me in
    life is now only a series of days
    without you, nothing sinks in
    you see, you are my heart
    you owned all of its wonderful pieces
    and now you and I are far apart
    no longer will we seize it
    so please take this here heart out of me
    and split it into a million little parts
    for I will no longer need the heartbeats
    I no longer have a heart

    sometimes the best medicine for a broken heart is sharing your story. deconstructing it and reconstructing it again as a piece of art. like you did here with this poem. to get comments from people who have been through this same song and dance can also help you out. kind of like AA for broken hearts. so thank you for not keeping the pain in. hope it makes you feel better and grow a little stronger as the days pass. keep writing. it will help. as it did me. as it will you.

    Yes letting go of love is the hardest thing (it seems like) to do! but it makes you a better lover for someone else!
