Poem Commentary

I have a series of poems about her hand. I cannot be positive which number this one is. I must collect the others from my journal to be positive which number this should be.

Her Hand #?

That day, like no other
When her brown pierced my soul
Her words were like whispers
Her touch like the cold
That squeezes your all
That makes you feel life
She made me feel open
Made me love sun
We laughed
We sang
Our song was unique

I can't remember her hand!
As she told me goodbye
Cause then I felt numb
Cause life was a lie
I know it was gentle
Her brown now gazed low
I can't remember her hand
Though recall every step
As she turned and she walk
Went my heart with each step
If only her hand could squeeze mine once more
I would always remember would not let go

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
